On June 4th 1921, spurred on by France, the International Union of Hunting (UIC) was created in Lausanne, Switzerland ... At the general assembly in 1938, the International Union of Hunting (UIC) became la Fédération internationale de tir aux armes sportives de chasse (FITASC) as it is still known to this day. It gathered together 27 national organizations divided into three sporting sections: live pigeon shooting, clay target shooting and shooting with rifles.

Ainsi naît, sous l'impulsion de la France, l'Union internationale de chasse (UIC) à Lausanne en Suisse le 4 juin 1921. [...] Lors de l'assemblée générale de 1938, l'Union internationale de chasse (UIC) prend le nom qu'elle porte actuellement : Fédération internationale de tir aux armes sportives de chasse (FITASC). Elle regroupe alors 27 organisations nationales divisées en trois sections sportives : tir au vol, tir au pigeon d'argile (plateaux) et tir à balle.
